Otogizoushi

Otogizoushi is set in the Heian era where corruption, famine, and disease are rampant in the capital. In an attempt to mend the city and its people the Emperor sends Minamoto No Raiko to retrieve the five missing magatama. These stones are representatives of the ying/yang, affinity(some such thing that I can't rightly remember.) But if they are all collected the city will be healed and life will be good. Woot!

Anywho, Raiko becomes ill and it falls to his sister Minamoto no Raikou to complete the quest. She is accompanied on her trip by Watanabe no Tsuna who is sworn to protect her. Raikou is joined in her journey later on by an ensemble of (sorry to say) typical supporting characters. Not to mention the typical slightly doomed romance aspect introduced as well. While I have seen this story before, and done a bit better, I did like this anime. I think mostly for the art and not as much for the characters. The story was meh. You can check it at anime-kraze if you get the notion.

PS. Watched the end of Inuyasha. WTF?? Nothing was really resolved. *sigh*
