Death of a Despot

A ticker tape parade was held Friday night celebrating the welcome demise of a wicked despot who reveled in the tears of women and children. His three years of rule left behind it a wake of painful bruises, torture, and general, evil laughs.

The dashing masked hero who liberated us was unavailable for comment. The dark deed done he rode quickly and silently into the sunset. No doubt already seeking out the weak and oppressed in other far away lands, that he might liberate them as well.

Mr. Pointy is no more!
Death to tyrannical blades!

The "so called' hero rides into the sunset.

The credits roll. The sound of the crowd shuffling toward the exits in the darkness is punctuated now and then by the sound of Styrofoam cups being kicked or stepped on. Even those sounds are muffled by the closing sound tract.

The credits drone on and on. The crowd thins. Few are left seated, their faces a wash in the soft reflected blue light of the screen

The credits end.

For just a moment the screen goes dark.

Then suddenly..................................

A broken blade lays on the floor, A gray mist gathers and slowly swirls about the floor. As the mist grows and becomes thicker the sound of a gathering storm thunders through the darkness.
Green lightening fills the air. Suddenly the strange lighting strikes home and the broken blade now glows with an mysterious green light.

Fade to black.

Editors Note: I will have my vengeance. In this life or the next.
