So, we have bamboo. It came with the house. It is definitely an effective screen between our yard and the neighbors on either side - that's the plus. The negative is that it is trying to take over the yard.
We bought our house last winter. One day in the spring we were shocked when we walked out in the yard and there were bamboo shoots all over the yard. They literally sprang up overnight. It looked like we were under attack from burrowing aliens that erupted from the ground in a coordinated attack. It's seriously freaky.
The good news is that they're easily mown over, if you catch them while they're new and pliable.
It's that time of year again.
Here's a bamboo shoot in the middle of my garden, next to the mustard. That bamboo shoot was not there yesterday, and it's already four inches tall.
That shoot would've been useful if it had sprung up where I planted the beans, but the mustard really doesn't need it.
Here's another bamboo shoot out in the yard.
While weeding today, I realized that bamboo is just like wire grass, except several times larger. It has segments above and below ground, and it sends up shoots with leaves on them. Both are pains in the butt when they grow in your garden.
We're hoping that the bamboo makes good bean poles. Well, bean teepees, actually. Maybe we should've lashed the poles together with wire grass instead of string. Hmm ...

Woah! I'm really enjoying the template/theme of this blog. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's very hard to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say you have done a excellent job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Firefox. Outstanding Blog!
Hey. This page is great. Thanks!
The essence of philosophy is that a man should so live that his happiness shall depend as little as possible on external things.
I'll gear cute blue mittens free this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
Glad to be one of many visitors on this awe inspiring website : D.
Can not help but examine and browse! Outstanding write-up! This is a highly effective motivator for just a lax human being
This design is wicked! You most certainly know how to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost...HaHa!) Wonderful job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

What I probably should have been chastised for was saying I'd spent a lot of time un-learning Fowler. I can't think of a single thing I learned in Fowler that I have since rejected. Doesn't mean it didn't happen. But I doubt any of it was conscious or related to Fowler per se. And I did quite enjoy reading about all the "rules" that Fowler debunks.
That's such a beautiful building. Seems like you are having great weatherenjoy it!
Just another excuse for the government to spend taxpayers money instead of giving it back to the people. STOP OVER SPENDING.
I will take myl's helpful link to the MWDEU on 'you was' as an acknowledgement that my comment was not considered too off-topic to pursue further.
What Ohwillike is saying has not to do with languages, but with education. School children in China are taught to read classical Chinese. School children in the Arab countries are taught to read the language of the Quran. School children in England where until quite recently taught to read Latin. None of this says anything about the archaism or conservatism of the respective vernaculars.
I never sent in my completed census and no one came to my door to get my info. Am I the only one out there? Where were these people who were supposed to go door to door?
I agree with the above, though I find it baffling rather than infuriating. What baffles me about this being an issue on LL is that this site has easily the best comments section I've ever encountered on the web. (I dare say there's a lot of unseen moderation by MYL and others, but even so.) And the few genuine trolls, like old 'Jimbino', are not generally vulgar or abusive.
I might have inadvertantly deleted the actual
verify message that was sent! I you will please
send another.
Thank you,
Richard Wolf
Another of the problems that people faced was also the food and medications those are also a emergency prepardedness.

Hi Britt -vAs my mom says in the video, "Just do it!" What I did wasn't amazing or impossible. It was a dream of mine and I achieved that dream. People with disabilities are intelligent and can attend college. Don't let people discourage you and tell you that you can't do something when you know you can.
Great photographs. Especially love the photo of "Mother Earth". Does that statue go deep into the soil? Or is it just a bust? Wish I was in India to see these magnificent creations!
Thanks for the important information I managed to get from your web page.
Once you are Denied from NC State, you must re-apply in order to be considered for another major choice. You will need to log on to your WolfPAW account and download the application update form located under "Print Forms", then you can mail that in for another chance to be reviewed for a different major.
Alcoholic beverages inside campus? That's absurd!
Whoever thought of this idea must be insane..
Schools are for education period!
I don't think so export license is required for charity products. You are helping others not selling.

Why does the census track Race and not Culture? For what purpose?
Why are all white people white, while you make detailed distinctions between Asiatic peoples?
I find these questions to be deeply troubling. It is scientifically ignorant and backwards.
Is the census such a slow moving bureaucracy that it's just 30 years behind the times in terms of understanding race and culture? Perhaps it is a political tool for creating a fear that "Hispanics" are overrunning the pure white race.
I would wager solid money that a census like this won't exist in the future; not once more people are informed as to the realities of the world. This race based approach was fuel for untold evils, from slavery to the holocaust. It is not something to perpetuate. If you want to track population growth, ask people's origins. If you want to track cultural flux, ask which culture people self identify with. By tracking "Race" you only continue an ignorant mistake as old as the species. As educated people at the helm of the census, I hope you too are deeply troubled by the situation.
As an American of German heritage (who's grandfather was a German soldier,) I am ashamed the lesson has not been learned.
Is there any chance of getting a number for the rate of doubling up in the 1970s? or 60s (that would be a 50 year comparison)
And is this really right? Before the recession in Spring of '07 17% of all households were doubled up? If that's right, that's astonishing and indicates a much larger trend than I'd been aware of.

Blogs are good for every one where we get lots of information for any topics nice job keep it up !!!
I'm not sure, even with a protagonist named Massimo Poesio [cameo performance by a lugubrious Anthony Hopkins? "I'll have those weak definites with a side-serving of fava beans"], how I'm going to make a compelling Hollwood courtoom blockbuster out of a bunch of attorneys arguing over the meaning of "the".
Probably somewhere around making the pants and swearing on their mother's mating name, they probably should've said something about smelling like colon...
I like this blog very much, Its a very nice post to read and obtain information.
I truly appreciate this post. I've been looking everywhere for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You've made my day! Thanks again!
