Plants Still Rockin' on Halloween

I took these pictures on Halloween.  That was two days ago, and as far as I know, it still hasn't frosted yet. Curious.

The green tomatoes I picked finally started to ripen.

tomatoes.jpgNext year, I guess this will be my strategy for getting tomatoes before the critters do - pick them green and ripen them inside.

Here are pictures of the gigantic zucchini.  The plant is looking pretty unhappy now (so I figured I'd better hurry and take a picture of it!), but it was huge.  The leaves were as high as my waist.

zuke2.jpgI'm supposed to be growing mustard in this big terra cotta pot, but so far only mushrooms, left-over chard, and the radish I impulsively stuck in the dirt are visible.  The mustard has sprouted, but it's hard to see the purple sprouts against the soil/leaves mixture.  I have no idea what kind of mushrooms these are - I didn't plant them.  (And don't worry, I'm not going to eat them!)

shrooms.jpgI also didn't plant this tomato.  I had a tomato in a bucket in the general area last year, and so I guess that's where this one came from. (I rearranged it so that it's draped onto the front porch.)  It has a few blooms on it, but it's running critically late on the whole fruit-production front.

This is what the beautyberry looks like in the fall:

beautyberry.jpgI was hoping that the golden leaves would hang out on the branches so I could enjoy the color contrast between the berries and the leaves, but no luck - the leaves turn yellow and hit the ground shortly thereafter.

Speaking of shrubs, here's proof that the hydrangea, like the tomatoes, is confused:

hydrangeas.jpgWell, whatever - it's still pretty even if it is confused. ^_^

I far too am accomplishing loved ones research and also have a family connection to the restaurant. Mybr /grandfather H J Stevenson worked there for any period of time most likely pre and post world war a person. His career within the trade ended with him being head waiter during the 1952-1953 Royal tour of New Zealand.br /His father, William Stevenson, (my Excellent Grandfather) also worked with the restaurant, for what we understood was 40 decades. If any person can assist with any data on these two gentlemen,br /we would be in excess of the moon.

This is simply not the first of your reports I've discover, and you only on no account end to impress me personally. Show appreciation a person, and i as well give the impression of being mail to studying inside future.

Hi-ya, tidy internet site you have there.|

Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you.

This is cute blue mittens free getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

men and women I do know.

This design is wicked! You most certainly know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost...HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

vSlider and Picasa are unrelated really. Picasa has an embed option that you can throw into a custom field called theater and it will place it at the top of the page. vSlider, when you install the plugin, I believe, can be linked to any image on the web (which includes your site's media library AND images in your picasa web album, if you wish.)

I totally agree with you. Same here, received, filled out, and mailed back, today we get another as a reminder? A terrible waste of money as far as I am concerned. Of course we all know who pays for the waste, right?

Having worked in both the field and at HQ I can say the ROs truly work hard at their job. I think the hardest and busiest job I ever had at the Census is when I worked in the RO.

Like John Lawler, I see the "of" construction in my students' writing all the time. It correlates very well with their reading habits: those who read frequently tend to use "have" because that's what they've seen. Those who don't try, as they do in many other circumstances, to sound it out; in so doing, they arrive at the most likely candidate, not the one that most closely approximates the sound.

The same problem happened in Chili, Santiago and Valparaiso. I think we will have more in a short future if we still facing the global warming problem.

Hi,
I am a inventory manager for a chain of car dealerships in Georgia. After hearing about the transportation nightmare now in Haiti, the owner of my company has expressed interest in donating cars (read: tax benefits!) to Haitian orphanages. Now, used car donations is nothing new for us as we do it for tax purposes nearly every year, but I'm not sure where to get started on figuring this out as far as donating to Haiti. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I'm so glad he corrected the original first panel. Early this morning* he had the glottal stop made with the tongue!

Safdsd,
The Census Bureau collects race and Hispanic origin information in
order to provide data required by various federal programs, laws
and regulations, as codified by the Office of Management and
Budget's (OMB) guidance on collecting and tabulating information
on race and Hispanic origin.
We collect data as guided by the OMB statistical policy directive. OMB defines these guidelines for consistency across federal programs.

A really great collection! Will take me some time to download them all!

OMG. Amazing and hilarious. I am always inspired by other artists. But, I don't think I will be doing this anytime soon.

Yes, that's one of the ideas we had. If you look at many of the Zombie oriented board games (i.e., Zombies!, Last Night on Earth, etc), they do this very thing. We've also built tile-based games in the past (e.g., Art of Defense) that use tiles. AoD also had the idea of doing sketching on the tiles to add/control units, but it was technically hard to make it robust. I like the idea of reacting to the boards players create, although I think a more constrained version would be more tractable.

I like this information given and it has presented myself several sort of commitment to succeed for some reason, so thanks.

I also got it when googleing the internet and the information presented here is a great source for those who want to get their Master's degree.

The "Rickyisms" that RF mentions are distinct from the other eggcorns in that they seem less like mishearings than misrememberings. For instance, there's a clear difference between "feel day" and "petal stool" on the one hand, and "rocket appliances" and "get two birds stoned at once" on the other. So I'd say internal textual evidence alone already supports the idea of multiple ur-texts, with the "appliances" kind of mistakes coming from a source we could call R, and the rest from some other source.

I agree Marcia! I do not trust the government and WILL NOT answer my Census form!

Good job.... After all these years, I finally know what goes down during your 9-5.

Can imported blank t-shirts that are screened in the US be classified as domestic? The screening does increase and enhance the value of the blank t-shirt. Thanks!

That would require a Constitutional Amendment. Not an easy thing to accomplish. Rather than hoping the decennial census becomes a permanent gig, I recommend you continue to search for a real full-time job. Just sayin'.

Can you use more than one Exemption Legend on the export documents? For example aircraft parts and equipment some that are subject to the EAR and others that are not and are under $2500 per Schedule B.

Thank you,

I always was concerned in this subject and still am, thank you for putting up.

I love Nintendo since I was a kid and I even love it until today...

myl's subsequent post on Thurber led me to the discovery that he has addressed this issue as well:

Amy thanks for your question.
I think the toughest obstacle has been showing people that I am just like they are. People look at me and see a disabled person in a wheelchair. They don't see the intelligent woman I am. I have had to deal with that all my life.

I think its waste of time to see the pop up every time

I've recently started a web site, the info you provide on this web site has helped me tremendously. Thanks for all of your time & work.

Guillermo EwersHey, thanks for the blog article.Really looking forward to read more. Cool.

Not sure what version of Symbian we created it for; whatever the N95 used a few years back. We aren't using this anymore, so we can't provide any support. If someone does fix it to work on Symbian 3, we'll be happy to include the updated version here.
