Blooms

Things are starting to bloom. ^_^

I'm most excited about the blooms emerging on one of the Rose Gold potato plants.  Yay!  I guess they're making up for lost time.  I thought they would never sprout, but here they are, getting ready to bloom. Cool.

The squash plants look like they might be forming buds.  I'm not sure.  They have these little fuzzy green nodules clustered around the stem, so I'm assuming those are buds rather than new leaves.  But they could well be new leaves.

The Nikko Blue hydrangea is about to explode into bloom.  The "moonshine" yarrow is also beginning to bloom.

In the herb bed with the yarrow is my poor little bloody dock plant that is being nommed out of existence by something or other. I think that if the culprit isn't mammalian, it must be a swarm of locusts.  Whole leaves are gone, only the red stems remain. *sigh*  Bugs are definitely chewing on some of the other herbs in that bed.  One of the basils looks like Swiss cheese, and so does the valerian.  Or is it the vervain?  Eh, I'm too tired from weeding now to go back outside and look. :P

The tomatoes are growing along slowly.  I think they're about 6" tall now.  Despite my impatience, I suppose it's a good thing that they're taking so long since I don't have their trellis up yet!

I also planted some seeds today: Cosmic Purple carrots and Rossa di Milano onions.  Now I have to remember to water the onions every day, because apparently that's what they require.  High maintenance little dudes.

The last of the seedlings - the tulsi, coleus, and balloonflower - are outside on the front porch to meet their fate.  I'm at a loss for what to do with them, so I figured I'd apply some tough love.  They are all "leggy,"   but if they survive the acclimation process, I'll go ahead and plant them.

Hi, My Name is Angela.. I love this product so much!!! I bought another e-cig from a competitor, and it was a piece of crap, IT SUCKS!! Well ever since i bought Green Smoke like 3 weeks ago, or maybe a month, I LOVVVEEE it!! I am an ex-cigarette smoker, and promised God that I was going to quit smoking cigarettes, and I haven't smoked another cigarette since the day I made the promise!! Green smoke is THE BOMB!! I just wish they had this product back when My mother could have used it. Green smoke produces SO MUCH vapor that it looks to the untrained eye that you are smoking a real cigarette.. I get kicks out of smoking in a restaurant, and they come up to me and tell me I can not smoke in their facility. and I tell them I am not smoking, I am vaporing..!!! It is sooo funny!!!

Wow it is so hard to comprehend just how PETTY people can be and how they use the word Tacky. Politicians and self appointed "I know whats best for everyone" police really think they should be the only ones heard. Today's society tells us we should not smoke anywhere and belittles people who do but yet we have to live with seeing people's underwear while their pants are half way down their legs. We have to listen to mega watt stereo's while waiting at red lights blast every obscenity and vile thought the artist has and sells without any government restrictions. Movies and TV shows continue every year to push the limit on what is deemed decent, and the one addiction that kills the user and kills many innocent people hourly "ALCOHOL" gets a FREE PASS. Someone please tell me why anyone listens to these arrogant "Smoking Police" at all. I say we ban these people who think they are the only ones who knows whats best for others. Tacky.... REALLY????? You need to get some new tactics.

You'd also think a literary scholar would be alert to matters of genre. The musings-about-Eliot letter as excerpted in the VF article also contains, for example, a sentence fragment. I would think that ought to be held against it if it were an essay submitted for course credit (i.e., I would not think a professor who drew a red circle around with a marginal note that it was a fragment was being a prescriptivist buffoon), but not held against if it's a letter aimed at impressing a girl, which is a somewhat different genre of prose composition. (The letter also contains the phrase "to catch a sense of what I speak" where I would have used a verb like "mean" instead of "speak" and find "speak" jarring to the point of being ungrammatical in my idiolect I don't think "speak" can be used transitively with the sort of direct object that's implied in the particular context. But I'm totally open to the possibility that his idiolect differed as to the semantic range of "speak" and even more open to the possibility that it's a mistake he would have caught had he proofread the letter the way he might have proofread an essay being submitted for course credit.)

Really happy to be associated with ACCE. Chambers are the front line of rebuilding the economic health and vitality of this country. It starts with jobs. Today and going forward, those jobs are created by entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs are made stronger through their local and state chambers.
Nice work Chris Mead and ACCE.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and learnings with Johannesburg City Parks.

I just love how misleading the press release is. 330 employees out of 7200 which equals about a 4.5% staff reduction. The press release neglected to mention that the majority of that 7200 are Field Representatives which are not affected by the Reduction in Force (RIF). In fact among Regional Office staff that are affected by the RIF I suspect the reduction is much closer to or even over 50%.

Hi Janee
Well, since you are a music major, I have to talk about music! I am a HUGE New Kids on the Block fan! I have met three of them (Jordan twice, Donnie, and Joey) at individual concerts! Jordan is my favorite and he was so wonderful to me, but Donnie was unbelievable! He saw me and had a twenty-minute conversation with me. As a group, I have seen them three times, and I am seeing them again on June 15th!!!

Hi Erika
I give many speeches everywhere. I have been giving speeches since I was nine years old. I enjoy it because I feel it helps people more about my life.

You didn't mention "white" rice or "white" potatoes. Many think brown rice (whole grain) is better and perhaps sweet potatoes sometimes rather than white

Hey guys, great post and pix. Looks like a super trip so far and please make sure the chaperones stay in line! Seriously, thanks for keeping us up to date. Quite incredible!

Watching the billowing smoke from my 3rd floor classroom window, I couldn't wait for the bell to ring. The children had no idea that there was an emergency. Running to the main office, I was stopped by a hysterical colleague who couldn't contain the news. The towers had been hit. Not to create a scene, we went into the library where a TV was set up. Shock, horror and fear filled my heart. Tears filled my eyes, and a silent prayer went to heaven. My friend is an MTA police officer. My cousin is one of the flight Captains for American flight number 1 out of Boston. The bell rings and I return to class. My inner voice directs me to love the children, teach on, teach on, and I shut the shades so no one can see. The day goes on, as normally as possible, until the end. Some teachers are relieved from class, and surreal actions take place like coming attractions of a movie. We move to the auditorium en masse to wait. The children know nothing other than we must wait. Waiting, the children chatter and we check identification as they leave school early with their guardians. At 6pm, 4 children remain, unclaimed.I have a 30-mile drive eastward to my home. My husband meets me on the lawn and I fall sobbing into his arms. We watch the newscasts over and over again unable to eat or drink. The next day I return to work. I pass every train station with the cars for which no one has returned. This is the memory that remains.

Thanks for the great information and the video. I love the SBA's "Strategies for Growth" series, all of the videos have such helpful information for small businesses to succeed and grow. I've reposted their videos concerning government contracting for small businesses on my blog

I agree using AESDirect to file your EEI is a major improvement over filing the paper forms.
One of the problems I think most filers face when working with a freight forwarder, especially if it's a routed shipment. Is not having the particular vessel information to properly file your EEI.
One way is to create your shipment and supply as much information as you can. For the departure date, simply provide a approximate future sailing date.
Have the freight forwarder send you the booking and vessel information so you can update the EEI information using AESDirect.
Also keep in mind that when using Import commodity codes they will not show up when searing export commodity codes. Remember you are allowed to use import and export commodity codes for exports.
When shipping with companies like FedEx or UPS they provide a portal where you can self file your EEI and receive your ITN. This will save you about $10 filling fee from the carrier.
Tip: Don't forget to use templates when using AESDirect, they will save you time when filing your EEI.
I hope this information is helpful.
Tony
