My poor tomatoes are still tiny. Like less than six inches tall tiny. It's the middle of May! I'm starting to wonder if they're even ever going to get their stuff together. *sigh* Maybe I should squirt them with some worm poop. That'll fix 'em.
According to my gardening journal from last year, the tomatoes had blossoms on them in mid June. *chews on fingernails* I really hope the tomato plants produce some actual tomatoes, because my copy of the Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving arrived today, and I really want to can some tomatoes! (And I've been daydreaming about fresh caprese, too.)
Everything else is coming along slowly, I guess. Even the potatoes have even stopped their explosive growth - they've looked pretty much the same for the last few days.
The beans are growing. About half of them have sprouted so far. Maybe the others will come along soon.
I wonder if the leaves of the squash plant are a little too pale. Hmm.
I also wonder if the mustard will ever get to be an edible size. It's nearly summer! There were little slugs hanging out on the mustard plants today. Do slugs eat mustard greens?
I still haven't transplanted the shiso. That's definitely on the to-do list. Transplanting the shiso and planting the onions, that's what's next. After some weeding, of course.

mid-June is still a ways away? (which looks so funny typed, but sounds right when one says it) Your 'maters will catch up and be overflowing at the end of the summer, right on schedule! :) Having witnessed the abundance of your Tomatoes last year, I have every confidence in your gardening :)
Don't know about no Quds drive, however the country's teeming with Israeli agents.
is most emphatically not how the Commission on Parenthood's Future promoted their recent report over a study of grownups conceived by way of sperm donation. It's not the angle that Ross Douthat focused on in his op-ed for your New York Times yesterday,
I am always at a loss to know how much to believe of my own stories.
My developer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using WordPress on a variety of websites for about a year and am concerned about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into it? Any help would be really appreciated!
Woah! I'm really enjoying the template/theme of this site. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's difficult to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say that you've done a very good job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Opera. Superb Blog!
As soon as I observed this site I went on reddit to share some of the love with them.
The new Zune shiny blue mittens free browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.
Does your site have a contact page? I'm having problems locating it but, I'd like to send you an email. I've got some recommendations for your blog you might be interested in hearing. Either way, great site and I look forward to seeing it grow over time.

This is exactly what needs to happen. The GOP always wants to ahrken back to the good ole days of yesteryear aka the 50s. Well elts go back then fiscal policy wise.
First, reporting raceas opposed to culture (I don't know how you'd get any meaningful estimate from "culture")is required by the Voting Rights Act to prevent redistricting efforts based on race.
Second, "scientifically" speaking, race doesn't really exist in concrete terms. Most African Americans have some European ancestors. Most of us are multiracial, even if we don't know it. But race doesn't stop being a real cultural thing.
The Census Bureau spends an enormous amount of time and resources figuring out what race is, why it's important, and how to ask it. But there's no right way to ask it, and people get pissed off no matter what question is on the form. Race in America is a pretty sensitive issue, obviously, and people feel very strongly about it.
Even if we try to ignore it (heck, *especially* if we try to ignore it), race doesn't go away.
Since I was born in America, that makes me Native American, right? Too bad they WON'T SEND ME A CENSUS FORM! I can't select ANYTHING without a census form! Where is everybody else getting these census forms? They mailed me 2 of them in 2000. Did one of those count for 2010? I made my own anyhow, just in case.
Thanks for the important information I managed to get from your web page.

It's interesting - I would have accepted the cyclical hypothesis, simply based on the number of babies and young children I know or hear about that seem to have names that sound old-fashioned to me. I guess we just trust our interpretation of our personal experience more than we maybe should!
I feel that much of the public is not aware of the purpose of the census and how these men and women are doing their jobs and collecting data and keeping it confidential. Bill Sparksman is an American hero who died defending democracy and not revealing the private data. This is not the first time an event like this has happened though, these field interviewers are constantly harrassed verbally and as you can see in this case physically as well. The American public needs to be informed as to the duties of these interviewers and why their participation is necessary to the democratic system.
Great Discoveries. It will be useful to everyone who will be able to use this information, including myself. Keep up the good work.
Awhile back I did something on this. Not all of it holds up, but it still seems that names beginning with f , o, and e declined 1900-1960 while initial h was being replaced by k.
Doubling up counted by including a 18 year old not in school? So if your child is 17 one month and 18 the next, then this is a doubled up household? What was the trend in this for the nonrecession periods? Pretty strange definition.
Poe's Law grows more broadly applicable every day. Poe is a man the law of whom should not be remained passive to.
Are there any 2010 Census Blocks, which contain both water and land (or is each Block water-only or land-only)?
Leeka73,
If you lost or misplaced your form, call the Telephone Questionnaire Assistance Center at 1-866-872-6868. (If you prefer a Spanish-speaking operator, then dial 1-866-928-2010.) The lines will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (your local time) seven days a week from February 25, 2010 through July 31, 2010. For the hearing-impaired, TDD 1-866-783-2010 (during the times noted above).
Hey guys, this has been an outstanding blog. Your experience looks to be have been extraordinary and your blog documentation via text and images puts us in a prime vicarious position to be right there with you. I'll see you at PHL on Saturday! Bob
Does your race affect your use of federal highways? Is there a separate tax rate table depending upon whether your ancestors came from Europe or Africa? I think not. Counting heads can be accomplished by individual cities & towns and accumulated stats can thens be reported at a state level.
mberry, Society and law are changing with respect to same-sex couples. The Census Bureau is working to adapt to this change, and to provide accurate measures of same-sex couples and the same-sex married population. Our portrayal of household relationship must accurately represent existing circumstances brought about by societal, cultural, and in some cases, legal changes. The General Counsel of the Department of Commerce recently reached a legal conclusion that reversed a policy of the previous Administration and clarified how the Census Bureau can report the growing number of samesex marriages in the United States. The Census Bureau will release the raw relationship data from the 2010 Census that will not recode same-sex marriages as unmarried partners. The form for 2010 Census is just 10 questions, and while it asks about the
relationships between respondents in a household, it was not designed to count the number of marriages in the country.
I'm proud to say that I personally know Mike Renoe and am proud to call him a friend. Good luck Mike.
Suz, Ideally, we would only send these second forms to those addresses that haven't yet returned their first census form by mail. One of the most consistent findings in survey research is that mailing a second questionnaire to nonresponding cases leads to higher response rates. The mailing of a second questionnaire is a polite way to remind people that they have not yet returned the original form. Fairly quick responses generally result.
If a residence received a second one, even though the fist form has already been returned, means that area that had a relatively low response rate in Census 2000. We sent a second form to housing units in the area in hopes of changing that this census. Households should only complete and return one form, and they may use either the first or the second form that they have received to participate in the census. The extra form should be discarded in a manner comfortable for the resident. If for some reason two forms are returned for a housing unit, the Census Bureau has a process for unduplicating them.
After reading the majority of the information on this website, I feel sufficiently informed about the census, although I do have a few questions. I understand that non-citizens are counted through the census, but what about the homeless population? Also, is the census distributed to every household in English, or in multiple languages? If the census is only distributed in a limited amount of languages, what would occur if somebody cannot understand the form? And finally, are the field representatives multilingual?
Personally, I feel most comfortable with enumeration and not estimates particularly at the local (muncipal, MCD) level. I have followed intercensal local population estimates closely, only to find that the end point (e.g., 1999, 2009) is much different than the count enumerated by the subsequent decennial census. (Estimates can be over or under the decennial counts.)
My recommendation keep as is! I LOVE what you do!
Rosanna,
For the most part, I like the AES Direct system and applaud the paperless efforts of everyone. However, there have been some quirks using the system that I have experienced since the beginning. In order to have more control over compliance for my company, I try to complete the AES before the shipment ever leaves my dock. However, there are things that are out of my control like Departure date, port of Export or unlading, that I have no clue what the carrier is going to use for these fields. Sure, I can have the carrier file the AES on my behalf, but then I lose control and have no idea if a fatal error or other problem exists. There have also been times when I use a certain HTS number (that I know is still current because I check my numbers frequently all year) and the database comes back as an invalid number. Other than that, I think the changes that have been made to the program over the last couple of years have improved (like who thought of a search field where you type in a question mark and hit the tab key). Keep making positive changes and making it more user friendly and I bet there will be less compliance issues. I want to be in compliance and the easier it is, the better I will be. (I bet others as well).
Thanks
Please clarify if I have items under the same schedule B "D" valued at $1500 and "F" valued at $3000, must they both be reported in the AES record or only the "F" which is valued over $2500?
Thats an excellent growth. The life style of black citizens have changed enormously.too good improvement .
