Sayonara Edamame

The deer ate my edamame despite the chili powder I sprinkled on the plants! $%@ deer! *grr*  They chewed all the leaves off and there's nothing left but little 4" stalks. *sigh*  If I manage to get a fence put up around the raised bed, I wonder if the edamame will grow back?

At any rate, potato plants appear to not be a preferred deer food.

potatoes_and_no_edamame.jpgAnd because they're cool-looking, here's a close-up of a potato blossom:

The tomatoes and peppers are carrying on - apparently they're not a preferred deer snack, either.

tomatoes_zukes_peppers.jpgThe Lolipop and Lolipop "Bourne Estate" are happily growing in their sassy yellow tomato cages, flanked by peppers and cucumbers.

tomatoes_cukes_peppers.jpgBased on the number of blooms I see already, I'm expecting a bumper crop of cucumbers ...

cucumber_blossom.jpgThe cukes are already glomming onto the neigboring tomato cages - I really have to put the cucumber trellis up this weekend no matter how hot it is. Ugh.

OK, my mistake. The video did not enjoy at first, so I believed it was just a photo.

Currently it sounds like Drupal is the best blogging platform available right now. (from what I've read) Is that what you are using on your blog?

Hiya! I know this is kinda off topic however , I'd figured I'd ask. Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest writing a blog article or vice-versa? My site covers a lot of the same topics as yours and I feel we could greatly benefit from each other. If you're interested feel free to shoot me an email. I look forward to hearing from you! Superb blog by the way!

When the present is full of gloom, the past becomes haven of refuge that provides relief and inspiration.

Hello. This article was really fascinating, particularly because I was searching for thoughts on this topic last couple of days.

Appreciating the time and energy you put into your site and in depth information you present. It's nice to come across a blog every once in a while that isn't the same outdated rehashed information. Wonderful read! I've bookmarked your site and I'm including your RSS feeds to my Google account.

Some really nice stuff on this web site , I love it.

The Zune cute blue mittens free concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Hey are using Wordpress for your site platform? I'm new to the blog world but I'm trying to get started and create my own. Do you need any html coding expertise to make your own blog? Any help would be really appreciated!

Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this blog. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's challenging to get that "perfect balance" between superb usability and visual appeal. I must say that you've done a great job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Firefox. Superb Blog!

The hardest transition is from step 2 and 3, if you can get that done right then you're golden!

I'm a religious Jew, who believes, at least in theory, in the Hebrew script existing before the creation of the world, and when I saw the title of this post, I said to myself, "oh, Chinese, what else could it be?". I guess this concept has been hammered into us so much that it's a knee-jerk reaction.

My job was located 1/2 mile north of Ground Zero on 9/11. I was in the city that morning, and saw too much . ...It is important for everyone to understand that life is precious, and should be lived positively, and with no worry.

You are correct. The General Rules of Interpretation (GRI) must be applied in order to determine proper export classification. In my entry, I was suggesting the Search Engine as an initial step in the classification process. The Search engine was designed to apply the GRI and World Custom Organization legal notes. In later blogs, I would like to present the GRI as well as other methods of finding a Schedule B number.

And do Pace students get discounts at gyms in the area? Sorry to nag!

Hi Beth Anne,
Thank you for sharing your story with us. The students very much enjoyed your webcast. We look forward to reading your responses to these questions.
Best,

Pflaumbaum, I don't think people who spell the reduced pronunciation of "have" as "of" are reanalyzing it as a preposition. They are, perhaps, analyzing it as the same word as a word that is usually a preposition. But it's hardly unusual for a word to be more than one part of speech in English, spelled and pronounced the same, with or without any obvious related meaning. Like "spell". The spelling "of" isn't evidence of reanalyzing it as a preposition.

Hi, for some reason when I place your feed into google reader, it won?t work. Can you give me the RSS link just to be sure I?m using the most appropriate one?

I just saw this yesterday in a student's paper, in praise of a character: "She is a dime in a dozen."

I think so this may have been the least accurate Census ever!

Regards for this terrific post, I am glad I noticed this site on yahoo.

I have recently started a website, the information you provide on this web site has helped me greatly. Thanks for all of your time & work. "It is no use saying, 'We are doing our best.' You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary." by Sir Winston Churchill.

very good font collection !!! thanx for providing it free to us !!!

I have not received ANY forms, but I got a postcard telling me that I am breaking the law if I dont fill out a form... I called the phone number to request a form and got a recording that asked that, before I could talk with a human, I needed to have the number of the form I didnt receive..... I believe either the form was lost or stolen from my mail (since I received a card indicating that I "should have already received my form)
I dont have any problems with filling out the form and I do not want to get in trouble, but I cannot fill out a form if you do not send me one.....
You have no information on your site as to how to actually order a form and the phone numbers listed are for recorded messages that do not allow my talking with a real person...
I am very frustrated with this whole process and the amount of time it is taking from my work..... Very inefficient.....

"It's not the flashy side of the decennial census. It's much more technical, guided by statistical quality standards, and it rests on careful work with large and complex response files and geographic reference files. But it is crucial to the quality of the census, and we must get it done well."
Is this a joke??? What part of this census operation was "flashy"?? I'm sure this next portion of the census IS more technical... I just hope your number crunchers aren't pressured to cut corners and do things that might result in even further inaccuracies like some of the enumerators were forced to do... and their field work was no less critical than any other part of this process.
I was very defensive of the census and it's criticisms when I first started working... sadly, that changed back in May when management at the regional level became idiotic. Now I find myself happy for this to be at an end and not be associated with it anymore.
